Let’s enjoy our lunch time!!

All drinks such as sake, beer, wine and soft drinks are included in the fee.

All my classes are private classes.
Therefore, I will carefully explain each step, one by one. Additionally, while cooking, I will share stories about Japanese food and daily life in Japan. Feel free to ask any questions you may have during your trip or anything about Japan you'd like to know.

I can also celebrate birthdays and anniversaries.
I am enthusiastic about celebrations, so let's celebrate together in Japanese style.

Menu requests are welcome.
If there are any specific Japanese dishes you would like to learn how to cook, please let me know.

  • Gyoza

    Gyoza

Gyoza is a dumpling using wrapping thing dough to hold the inner ingredients. Most commonly, minced pork, cabbage, Garlic and Leek. The origin of Gyoza is from China but it has evolved uniquely in Japan and now quite different from the Chinese one.

  • Sake

    Sake

Japanese popular alcoholic drink must be Sake, or called Nihonshu, made from fermented rice. The foundation of good sake is quality rice, clean water, koji mold and yeast. Premium sake differentiates itself in quality of ingredients and production process, so that flavors ranges light and crisp to richer, fruity notes.

Cooking Class Information

I live in Omori, which is a residential area characterized by a mix of old small shops and some of Japan's largest supermarkets. On the way from the station to my house, you can visit various shops, including supermarkets, where I can introduce you to Japanese ingredients and seasonal items. This experience will undoubtedly provide you with a glimpse into real life in Japan, showcasing a culture distinct from Shibuya and Asakusa.

If there's anything that catches your interest, I believe it would be a great idea to do some shopping on the way back home after class.

At my kitchen, I will introduce how to cook Gyoza with
vegetables and meat.
We will start to preparing the gyoza wrappers from dough.
Hand made gyoza wrapper is crispy and vegetables and meat inside the Gyoza is Juicy!!

We will also make Japanese soul foods, a rolled omelet by using a rectangular frying pan.
It’s fluffy and sweet !!

Daifuku is a typical Japanese sweet that has been eaten on a daily basis for a long time. Recently, fruit daifuku, which is made by wrapping delicious seasonal fruits such as strawberries, mandarin oranges, and figs in white bean paste and sweet rice cakes, has become popular.

In my class, I will introduce simple recipes that participants can make even after going back to your country. I think it will be a very exciting and valuable experience to wrap fruit in freshly made hot and sticky rice cakes.

Moreover, the unique process of cutting the freshly made fruit daifuku using a thread, which is challenging with a knife, adds to the excitement. Why not create photogenic Japanese sweets?

Enjoy Seasonal Japanese Cuisine!!

Our experience with Junko was excellent. She first showed us around some of the local shops which was interesting to learn about. We made three different dishes with her in the cooking class afterwards, all of which were delicious and we look forward to trying to recreate them back home!

Hello, We had a great time with Junko. She's full of enthusiasm and - fortunately for us - very patient! We had the opportunity to talk about cooking, but also to share our daily lives. A workshop with Junko is a suspended moment during which all you can think about is sharing and learning from each other's experiences. Highly recommended, thank you Junko :-) Christine, Jean-Pierre and Nicolas

A massive THANK YOU to Junko! Her cooking class was absolutely fantastic. I loved every bit of it. On top of her cooking skills, chatting with Junko about the Japanese eating culture and traditions was the greatest asset for me. This is why I booked a cooking class on the first place. And I have not been disappointed at all ! We had so much fun together. In term of cooking, everything was delicious to eat (not always easy to make - especially gyoza - but this is why I needed to do a class!! lol). Now, I have all the techniques. I'm ready to cook on my own and to share my experience with friends and family ! Success guaranteed !

I did this class with my 11 year old and we had a wonderful time. Junko san was an amazing host - very warm and and friendly and she explained everything very well. She even especially showed us how to make mochi for soup as I had mentioned that my son loves mochi, and had prepared a special list for us of things to do in Tokyo that are still open with the coronavirus precautions. The class was very hands on- we got to prepare everything ourselves (after Junko had shown us how) and Junko san shared her recipes so we will be able to make them at home. This class will definitely be one of the highlights of our trip to Japan - I highly recommend it.

Having attended cooking classes before I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of teaching and service that Junko provided. I can strongly recommend this this class and would overall give a rating of 5 out of 5. Below are my reasons for the rating. Teaching - 5 out of 5 Teaching a person is not an easy skill let alone teaching a group of people. Junko first gave a briefing of what we were going to cook and the ingredients that we would need for the dish, then she showed us the techniques of cooking 3 Japanese dishes step by step. Her focus on all of us ensured that we were not lost at any step of the process and touches of humour in the her teaching made the experience fun and enjoyable. Junko high proficiency with English also meant that there was no misunderstandings throughout the teaching process. She also gave adequate advice which proved to be valuable though out our trip with understanding the culture, where to visit, language nuances and etiquette. Taste - 4 out 5 (you get what you put in) After booking the class, I was shortly contacted by Junko and she asked if I would like to make gyozas with meat or vegetables which if you are a vegetarian I think you could definitely find interesting as an option. Due to the precise measurement of the ingredients, it's hard to come up with a different flavour than what is expected with the food at the end tasting delicious and was very flavourful. Cleanliness - 5 out of 5 Cooking in a Japanese home was an incredible experience for me being a foreigner and it was interesting to see what a traditional Japanese home looks like. The house was very tidy and the environment that we cooked in was very hygienic. Hospitality - 5 out of 5 The hospitality Junko presented was a very pleasant experience. She met us at the station where we were made to feel very welcome in her home. Upon meeting her, we got to know a bit about each other which made the experience more memorable. During the whole process we took photographs to capture and remember the experience which for me personally will be one that I will not forget.
